1 Scope

This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, product size designations and specifications, requirements, test methods, conformity assessment rules, product instructions, packaging, transportation, and storage for knitted underwear of thermal and moisture property.

This Standard applies to the evaluation of the thermal and moisture property of knitted underwear made primarily from knitted fabrics, under conditions of low temperature and low activity.

Method for moisture management tests

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1 thermal and moisture property

The ability of a fabric to maintain and regulate the temperature and humidity of the microclimate between the human body and the environment during the process of heat and moisture transfer.

3.2 low activity

Activities with a metabolic heat production rate of 418000 J/m² per hour or less, such as. reclining; sedentary activities (office, home, school, laboratory); standing activities (shopping, laboratory work, light industrial work, sales work, housework, machine operation); and walking on level ground at 2 km/h.

4 Product model and specification

Implementation shall be in accordance with the standards for knitted underwear products.

5 Requirements

5.1 Contents

Requirements are categorized into intrinsic quality and appearance quality. Intrinsic quality encompasses thermal and moisture property indicators and the intrinsic quality metrics specified in relevant product standards for knitted underwear. Appearance quality is assessed in accordance with the relevant product standards for knitted underwear.

5.2 Grading regulations

Provided that the product meets the specified thermal and moisture property indicators, its grading shall be determined in accordance with the relevant product standards for knitted underwear.

5.3 Requirements for intrinsic quality

5.3.1 The requirements for hygrothermal performance indicators are given in Table 1.

5.3.2 Other intrinsic quality requirements shall comply with the provisions of relevant product standards for knitted underwear.

5.4 Requirements for appearance quality

Implementation shall be in accordance with the standards for knitted underwear
