This part is part 23 of DZ/T 0276.

This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part replaces DY-94 "Testing procedures for physical and mechanical properties of rocks 20. Point load strength test". This part is compared with DY-94.

The main technical changes are as follows.

--- Added two chapters of "terms and definitions" and "principles";

--- Added measurement description of D value in soft rock test;

--- Added observations on the damage characteristics of the specimen;

--- Increased the calculation of the equivalent diameter;

--- Added a correction method for the calculation result when the two-point spacing of the loading is not equal to 50mm;

--- Increase the calculation method of the anisotropy coefficient;

--- Delete the geological hammer in the equipment;

--- Modified the rock point load strength test record table.

Rock physics and mechanics properties test procedures Part 23. Rock point load strength test

1 Scope

This part of DZ/T 0276 specifies test methods for determining rock point load strength and rock anisotropy index.

This section applies to the rock point load strength test in rock physical and mechanical properties test.

2 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Point load strength index pointpointstrengthindex in the rock point load test, the ratio of the ultimate load at which the specimen is fractured to the square of the distance between the two loading points.

Anisotropy index anisotropicindex in the rock point load test, the rock point load strength index perpendicular to the weak surface and the rock point load strength index parallel to the weak surface Ratio.

3 Principle

Place the rock sample between the upper and lower spherical conical plates, and apply concentrated load to the sample until the sample is destroyed.

Rock point load strength and anisotropy index.

Point load strength can be used as an indicator of rock strength classification and rock mass weathering zoning, and can also be used to evaluate the anisotropy of rock strength.

Degree, other strength values associated with it, such as uniaxial compressive strength and tensile strength are estimated.

4 Instruments

4.1 Point load tester.

4.2 Vernier caliper. The range is 15cm and the precision is 0.02mm.

5 Sample

5.1 Group rock specimens that are identifiable to the naked eye and have roughly the same engineering geological features. If the rock is anisotropic (such as bedding, sheet the obvious sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks should be further divided into two subgroups of parallel and vertical bedding loading, and each group of samples should not be less than 15.

5.2 Core-like, regular or irregular block specimens may be used. Different sample sizes should meet the following requirements.

a) Core radial test, the length to diameter ratio of the sample should be greater than 1.
